The Story

A young couple in Wayne was building a new home with a newborn at home and no bandwidth for decision fatigue. They knew what they wanted it to feel like. They did not want to spend the next eighteen months managing the details of getting there. They were referred through their builder and quickly transitioned into Z. Domus's full-service model.

What We Did

Rose led. The clients provided direction on color and general feel, and the team took it from there. The palette wove green and blue through the home without ever tipping into anything coastal or thematic. Wallpaper was used in capsule spaces, each room with its own personality, all part of the same whole. A waterfall island in the kitchen with inset paneling on the sides. Custom millwork in the dining room. Dual offices on different floors, one for meetings, one for focus. Full furnishings across four levels. The clients came back for a second nursery when the family grew.

The Result

A fully resolved home, from structure through furnishings, that felt complete on day one. The clients didn't have to carry the project. They walked in and it was right.

What a Late Tile Decision Actually Costs

Most renovation surprises aren't bad luck. They're the predictable result of design and construction working as two separate processes instead of one. Rose Zefferino breaks down what changes when your designer understands construction from the inside.
